Position Purpose:

We are looking for a dedicated, self-motivated, driven technical professional to work in a team of engineers developing for and feature-improving a highly available product using Java technologies and Html/Css/Javascript/Spring web MVC for our partner, Betfair.Betfair is the world’s leading person-to-person betting exchange, using a concept which is revolutionizing the betting industry.The successful candidate will have exceptional technical and problem solving skills, with a positive, results driven attitude.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

• Review product specifications in order to give development estimates and product feedback.
• Innovative technical design and creative of technical specifications.
• Thorough, demonstrable test driven development.
• Code reviews, by and for peers.
• Software creation, adhering to and feeding back into departmental standards and guidelines.
• Technical documentation that shares knowledge effectively.
• Self learning is considered to be a plus.

Key Working Relationships:

This position involves working with and been part of a cross-skilled, cross-continent development team, and will have regular contact with teams looking after other aspects of Betfair products & tools

Experience & Qualifications Required:

• Java Core is a must
• Servlet/JSP is a must
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, with a desire to learn more
• Experience with Spring Core, Spring Web MVC
• Ajax is a good to know thing as the projects will evolve later
• Experience with and testing frameworks (test driven development is considered to be a plus)
• At least 2 years experience.
