Skadool Romania Senior Java Developer (Middleware)  

Introduction:

Skadool is a privately held startup in the web 2.0 social networking arena. We are working on a revolutionary collaboration and socialization system. The company has operated in the Cluj area for over two years and will be launching their service in 2009.

We are looking for a senior developer to help us with the architecture and implementation of our middleware. This employee will work closely with company management to evaluate technical tradeoffs and identify technical solutions to business problems. The focus is on the middlelayer but the sphere of influence will cover the entire application including the client side architecture. As a senior member of the company, compensation will include ownership in the company in the form of stock options.

We intend to fill this position immediately.  We are looking for self-starters who want to work in a place where their efforts contribute directly to the success of a cutting-edge software company.

Ideal Candidate Background:

• BS or MS in computer science or a related field
• object oriented programming in Java
• basic knowledge RDBMS
• strong good oral and written communication skills

Plus Points:

• experience working with Tomcat, Apache, MySQL
• basic HTTP protocol knowledge
• hands-on Java Spring Framework, Apache Lucene library
• basic J2EE (servlets, JDBC, JNDI)
• good skills using Linux / UNIX like environments
